ABOUT HARISH MEKALI
I seek opportunities to connect and take on more significant assignments. My fundamental interests are in Technology and was born and brought up in Gadag. Currently, I am pursuing a full-time Ph.D. from IIT Bombay. My research interests include Embedded Systems and the Internet of Things(IoT). I have been working as an Assistant Professor at BMS College of Engineering (BMSCE), Bangalore, since 2010. I established a Robotics and Embedded Systems lab in BMSCE in May 2014. I have served the institute in different posts, including BMSETH – Warden, Visiting professor at BMS Evening College of Engineering, Faculty Facilitator for BMSCE – Startup cell, and Exam Squad team member.I have 17 publications, including 3 patents(pending), 1 copyright(granted), 9 International, and 6 national papers. I have taught more than 15 courses in the UG and PG departments of BMSCE. I have delivered more than 50 expert guest lecturers and trained more than participants.My team has won many awards, including the solar chulha design competition award from ONGC, New Delhi, awards from ARM Embedded Systems Pvt. Ltd, and Tata Consultancy Service(TCS). I have signed 10 Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) with different industries and organizations.I am a design consultant for Nuetech Solar Systems Pvt. Ltd. and a training consultant for ALS India Pvt. Ltd, Bangalore. I also worked as an Inspection committee member for Mahithi Sindhu, the Government of Karnataka, and the Proceeding Officer during the Lok Sabha General Election 2019. I have been invited by the Rural Water Supply and Sanitization Department (RWSSD) of the Government of Karnataka to address the Technical Committee. I am an IETE-Fellow, Member, a Global Member of the Internet Society, and a Life member of ISTE(Indian Society for Technical Education). My other interests include Traveling and Photography.
