About Hari Kara

I believe that good design is truly ‘meaningful in context’.As an industrial designer, I specialise in the aesthetics and experience of objects, with a particular interest in form, product semantics and emotive design. I am fascinated by the way products communicate, the way they feel, and how they ultimately connect with people.I help companies develop cohesive product ranges underpinned by a consistent, universally intuitive design language. My expertise spans the full creative process—from initial sketching and form-giving to CMF (Colour, Material, Finish) and aesthetic development—with a steadfast focus on bringing ideas into tangible reality.Alongside my client-facing work, I design and build ‘Bhilight’, a collection of lighting objects that explores the relationship between form, material, and ambience. This ongoing practice provides a vital space for experimentation, informing my broader approach to creating thoughtful, experiential products.My work was recognised with the EDIDA 2022 (Elle Deco International Design Award).I am currently accepting new projects and would love to discuss how my approach to design and aesthetic development can bring value to your next product.

   Independent industrial design practice focused on form, emotion, and meaning (product semantics)—how objects communicate, feel, and connect with users- I collaborate with companies to design and develop products across consumer goods, toys, and home accessories, working from concept through to prototyping and refinement- My approach often draws from nature, translating organic principles into contemporary product forms with a strong emphasis on interaction, perception, and usability- I work across sketching, form development, 3D modelling, and hands-on making, bringing ideas into tangible, testable outcomes- Alongside practice, I actively engage with the design community through workshops, talks, juries, and teaching at design institutions in India. I serve on the \'Board of Studies\' for School of Design at ADYPU, Pune.
