ABOUT HARENE ELAYATHAMBY
Final-year MSci Cancer Sciences student at the University of Nottingham, currently on placement in the Translational Oncology Department at GSK. I work with patient-derived explants (PDEs) and apply spatial transcriptomics to explore tumour microenvironment interactions and treatment responses.My experience includes tissue handling of FFPE and frozen fixed samples, multiplex staining and imaging, mean fluorescence intensity (MFI) analysis, and bioinformatics skills using SPSS statistical software and Halo AI for digital pathology. I also have practical expertise in laboratory techniques such as Western blotting and immunohistochemistry, complemented by data analysis.Passionate about advancing cancer research and novel therapeutics, I am particularly interested in translational oncology and aim to pursue PhD opportunities focused on improving patient outcomes through innovative research.
