About Haran Tekle
Passionate about chemical engineering, sustainability, and technological innovation, I have had the opportunity to work on impactful projects across multiple industries. As a Spring 2025 BART Intern, I am currently working on enhancing BART’s mobile app to improve user experience and accessibility. This builds on my previous work with BART, where I won the IYAI Challenge, leading the development of Transit Together, an app focused on sustainability and equity in public transit. Beyond transportation, I have conducted isotope research at Lawrence Berkeley National Lab (LBNL) and worked as a NASA researcher, where I co-authored a published paper on environmental and space-related topics. These experiences have strengthened my expertise in chemical analysis, data interpretation, and research methodologies, all of which align with my aspirations in chemical engineering. I am passionate about the intersection of chemistry, technology, and sustainability, with long-term goals in cosmetic chemistry and materials science. Let’s connect!
