Additionally, when researchers study the effects of factors on \"acceptance\", what is the justification for choosing intuitive metrics such as \"race\",\"gender\",\"likes/upvotes\" that are easily interpret-able over more abstract vectors of information?• The gap between real-life impact and academic publications/scientific research in general. Duke\'s previous research on gerrymandering in NC using machine learning methods has been more than an academic achievement because it does contribute significantly to the media attention given to the issue and the subsequent federal court rulings to redraw NC constituencies. What are the factors resulting in its success and limited real-life impact of some other academic research that has the same rigor and validity? How to measure \"impact\"?• The efficiency of cooperation within the academia itself. How much new \"knowledge\" is being generated? Are research questions formulated in a way that leverage the existing knowledge base optimally?
