I am currently a Senior Director at Google. Previously, I held multiple leadership roles at Meta, most recently as a Director within the Generative AI organization building foundational LLMs and applications. Prior to that, I was a Director at Meta’s Discovery organization, where my team built industry-leading recommender systems by investing deeply in NLP, multimodal understanding, user understanding, self-supervised learning, and efficient transformers. Earlier in my tenure, I served as a Director at Meta\'s AI org, focusing on developing ML technologies to ensure user safety and connection.Before joining Meta, I was a Principal Researcher and Research Manager at Microsoft Research, where I (1) invented the core Knowledge Graph algorithms that powered Bing\'s entity experience;(2) architected the Question and Answering effort which fundamentally shaped Bing into a semantic search engine;(3) constructed the world\'s largest Scientific Knowledge Base with a team of applied and data scientists, which powered Microsoft\'s Academic and Patent Search Engine.I have published 50+ research papers in prestigious conferences and journals. Some of my research has been widely reported by popular News media, like The Wall Street Journal, MIT Technology Review, Search Engine Land, etc. I am also a winner of three ACM Test-of-Time awards.
