Led end to end system safety analysis for an electric vehicle propulsion system, integrating STPA, HARA, ASIL allocation/decomposition, and ISO 26262 aligned safety lifecycle activities.• Defined and derived Safety Goals, Functional Safety Requirements (FSRs), and Technical Safety Requirements (TSRs) from system-level hazards, with clear traceability to control actions and operational scenarios.• Developed a modular fault handling framework for propulsion subsystems (torque control, motor interfaces, CAN communication), enabling deterministic mitigation strategies and safe state transitions.• Designed and implemented fault detection, isolation, and mitigation (FDIM) logic in MATLAB/Simulink, including CAN loss detection, watchdog mechanisms, and torque limiting/inhibit strategies.• Established FTTI / FDTI timing budgets and aligned fault response behavior with vehicle-level hazard manifestation times under diverse operational scenarios.• Supported MIL / SIL / HIL validation of safety mechanisms using Speedgoat real-time platforms, fault injection, and structured test cases.
