ABOUT HANYA SAKR
I am a fourth year Software Engineering student at the University of Waterloo interning @ Apple this summer. I have previously interned @ PlayStation, Morgan Stanley & RBC. My goal is to promote diversity and inclusion within STEM programs. As a Director on the Women in Engineering Committee at UWaterloo, I had the opportunity of organizing an all-female hackathon for 70 students. Participants were able to expand their technical skills while working in a supportive environment. Empowering girls in these events has been a rewarding experience. On top of my involvement with WiE, I was an executive on the Women in Computer Science Undergraduate Committee. In my role, I organized events aimed to gather and support women in the math faculty.
