Business development is a term that is often used in very different ways. For me, it means making professional friends over the years and thus forming a network of people with similar views and experiences. This inevitably means that I can learn from colleagues in practice and pass on both my own experience and that gained in the company that employs me. Since university times, I have been accompanied by the joy of chromatography, but also by the interest in the subject areas that are influenced by chromatographic analysis. Companies that employ me (there have not been so many so far) gain information about the present and future of the laboratory industry through the exchange of experience and benefit from the fact that workflows developed in-house are tested and evaluated within the network. Such professional evaluations and insights are always helpful, regardless of whether they lead to positive or negative assessments. I therefore look forward to meeting you, and to exciting discussions, provided that the retention times of our view of things are close enough.
