SailGP is a global sailboat racing championship and has been likened to the FIA Formula 1 Championship. I race as the US SailGP Team Flight Controller on a hydro-foiling, winged powered catamaran called the F50, which is engineered for speeds exceeding 60 miles per hour, against 11 other nations in one of the fastest and most competitive professional sailboat races in the world.Along with racing these impressive machines, I also engage in the maintenance and support of the F50, which involved ground operations, boat assembly and composite repair, and associated work on the F50’s electrical, and hydraulic systems.
