Responsible for projecting sales and ensuring that the organization achieves maximum profitability by taking advantage of special pricing, show specials, and dating. Duties include ordering for on-time delivery, confirming both special order and stock purchase orders, receiving confirmed orders, and following up with billing discrepancies. While at Douglas Lumber, I implemented the automated purchasing module for all showroom products i.e. paint, nails, moulding, decking, decking accessories, locks, etc. In addition to evaluating each product as to whether it should continue as an active item, turns, establishing buying quantities, and assigning a primary vendor for each item, this module also is key in evaluation past performance and extrapolating to future sales based on past sales. In addition, the database was updated to include vendor’s item numbers, thereby eliminating misunderstandings of which product was ordered. In addition, purchasing assisted sales in finding new products for customers and non-stock products with approved vendors, acceptable delivery times and best pricing.
