I am a parent with lived experience. I founded Holding Space in 2019 following my daughter\'s struggle with her mental health. As a parent I was offered no support, had no one to talk to and found it very lonely and isolating. Holding Space is a registered charity offering parent peer support to families whose children & young people are struggling with their emotional and mental health. We offer a range of support services from coffee mornings & evenings,1:1 telephone support and low cost counselling. We also provide educational programmes for parents so that they feel empowered to support their children. We support children and young people and offer early intervention and support so that they don\'t reach crisis point. Parents want to be empowered with the knowledge and skills to be able to support their children at home. I am passionate that the voice of the parent is heard. That the parent is involved in their child\'s journey. That parents and carers are valued for their knowledge and expertise.
