I have been working as a Senior Global Campaigns Advisor at Tearfund UK. I have over 20 years of experience in the commercial, development, and philanthropy sectors. My background as an engineer, CEO, and strategic communications expert drives my interest in enterprise-driven solutions to sustainable prosperity for people in poverty. I have a strong passion for social movements that support ordinary people to lift themselves out of extreme poverty. I\'ve co-founded 10 such movements across Malawi, Kenya, Haiti, Brazil, Nigeria, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, and China. I believe that a critical mass of mobilized individuals and groups can create disruptive market innovations that make products and services more affordable and accessible to more people. Such innovations have the potential to drive systemic change and facilitate a transition from subsistence living to widespread sustainable prosperity for households. Having personally experienced the harsh realities of extreme poverty and insecurity, I am deeply committed to discovering and coordinating comprehensive solutions that direct philanthropy toward initiatives that create engines of growth – businesses that encourage the masses to participate as producers, distributors, and consumers. I have had the opportunity to work, study and reside in Africa, Asia, America, and Europe. My educational background includes an MBA from the UK, an MA from the USA, and a BSc from Uganda.
