About Hanna Salus
Growing up near Hershey, PA, home of \"Chocolate World,\" I became fascinated with the impact food choices and infrastructure have on our health. My passion for nutrition and its effects on our body and disease states have led me to obtain my BSPH in Nutrition Science & Research in the Gillings School of Global Public Health with minors in Chemistry and Education.\"Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.\" This Hippocrates quote has been a guiding principle in my academic and career goals. I hope to pursue an MD/DO degree where I can combine public health research with clinical care and leverage my nutritional biochemistry background to both treat the individual and change current systems to promote health. I currently work as a Patient Care Assistant in an orthopedic surgery office and serve as the President of the NC Beta chapter of Phi Delta Epsilon medical fraternity.
