Appointed as one of five applicants to fill a vacancy on Edgewater City Council April 2021; elected November 2021 for a four year term to keep the seat. Help oversee ~$11M general fund annual budget and manage two direct reports. Responsible for one judicial appointee. Led gun violence prevention programming and legislation, helped initiate staff and community Narcan (opioid overdose OTC treatment medication) training and distribution, took ownership within Council to ensure a comprehensive paid leave benefits package for city employees, supported local minimum wage legislation and American Rescue Plan funds to be used to keep undocumented residents housed, and have supported several other policies and programs to elevate climate and community locally. Endorsed by Run for Something, Everytown for Gun Safety Action Fund, Jefferson County Latino Democratic Initiative, Vote Mama, US Congressman Ed Perlmutter, Vote Prochoice, and more.
