About Hannah Etienne
I started writing stories at six years old. After I wrote, directed, and edited my first short film (starring my dog), I knew I wanted to be a filmmaker. To pursue that dream, I moved from the Chicago suburbs to go to film school in California. I’m a senior studying Creative Producing with minors in Public Relations and French at Chapman University. I spent the Spring 2024 semester studying abroad in Cannes, France, where I learned about film sales and distribution as a Cannes Film Market intern.Last summer, I sharpened my story analysis skills as a Production & Development Intern at Lionsgate, where I evaluated scripts with the studio\'s creative taste and business goals in mind. As a selected participant in the competitive Academy Gold Rising program, I attended weekly panels and networking events.Beyond film, I\'ve developed strong leadership skills as a Chapman Ambassador, Orientation Leader, Peer Advisor, and Dodge Insider mentor. I gain expertise in marketing and public relations as an AIFS Abroad Global Engagement & Marketing Intern.Additionally, I\'m an avid reader and writer, a big fan of period pieces and dramas, and a 2x Miss Illinois winner!My thesis film “Amber” is in post-production, and I’m currently producing a second thesis which will shoot next spring.
