I’ve been helping temporary candidates find office work in Oxfordshire for over 15 years.I first came to Allen Associates looking for temporary work myself, and two weeks later, joined the agency instead! I now manage a busy and hugely successful temps team. We are successful in part because I know exactly how it feels from a temporary candidate perspective looking for work in Oxford. I love meeting interesting and ambitious people, just because they are looking for a temporary stop gap or short term challenge, doesn’t make them any less inspiring or hard working. Sometimes the people I meet are travelling in the area, or just need interim exposure, and often they are Graduates just like I was, unsure of which direction to take their career in. It’s the best feeling in the world when I offer a candidate three days of temping, and 6 weeks later, they are still there, adding value and being considered for permanent opportunities. When I first joined Allen Associates we were mid-recession and the number of candidates looking for temporary work was extremely high; the market has changed of late, and the upturn in the permanent market has made strong temporary candidates fewer and further between.
