I have fourteen years\' experience in ecological consultancy including a relevant degree and more unusually specific vocational qualifications in biological survey, identification and habitat management. I am skilled in ecological survey, assessment, mitigation, habitat creation and management, clerk of works, report writing and mapping. In this time I have undertaken protected species surveys including bats, badger, otter, water vole, pine marten, red squirrel, reptiles and great crested newts. I lead Preliminary Ecological Appraisals, extended Phase 1 Habitat Surveys and am proficient in National Vegetation Classification (NVC) surveys. I am dedicated to improving my botany and this has included intensive voluntary work over the last six years and includes attainment of my Field Identification Skills Certificate (FISC) from the Botanical Society for the British Isles (BSBI) at a Level 4 \'Good ID\'. I have co-ordinated studies for Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and as a skilled report writer and have produced numerous ecological Environmental Statement chapters as well as Habitat Regulations Appraisals. My interest lies in promoting opportunities for biodiversity and I am developing my proficiency in habitat design, restoration, enhancement, creation, management and monitoring and have produced numerous Landscape Ecological Management Plans. My understanding of Geographical Information Systems (GIS) has supported these.I have used this background to progress into Biodiversity Net Gain and promoting development as as means to better outcomes for biodiversity and hope that this leads to greater exposure to and addition of natural capital and ecosystem assessment approaches in the future.I have worked on rail, road, onshore and offshore wind, tidal, wave power and electrical connections, flood alleviation schemes, port developments and smaller construction projects including schools and domestic properties.
