I am currently working in the Office of Information Management and Analysis (OIMA) in the Surface Water Ambient Monitoring Program (SWMAP). Our work focuses on science communication, promoting equity through each stage of the data life cycle, water quality monitoring for freshwater harmful algal blooms, and building partnerships with local communities and Tribes. My work currently focuses on communicating the new guidance document for monitoring freshwater benthic cyanobacterial blooms/toxic algal mats throughout California\'s waterbodies. I am also updating and enhancing the existing Tribal Water Data Map and its user manual which are both open-access and designed to help provide a central location with layers that are particularly important and relevant to Tribes in California.
