ABOUT HANNAH MAINS SNIDER

Contact information: H••••••••@me.com Graduated from University of Denver Graduate School of Social Work, June 2019 Concentration: Mental Health Certificate: Animal Assisted Therapy & School Social Work GPA: 3.9 My passion is to bring a trauma informed, clinical lens, into schools in order to decrease suicidality by utilizing animal assisted interventions. I wanted to become a social worker in order to help those struggling with suicidality. I then became passionate about doing this with animal assisted interventions, and utilizing a trauma informed lens. I would love to do this with adolescents due to their incredible ability to adapt, show empathy, and challenge the world around them. The school based setting is a phenomenal area to decrease therapeutic barriers for youth seeking services. I also love it due to the hustle and bustle of working with a multidisciplinary team, navigating agencies, and the ability to work with multiple different age groups. • I have experience working within three DPS schools, providing clinical services to middle school and high school students • I have provided therapy to students with multiple diagnosis and have created treatment plans and followed through on their mental health goals • Knowledgeable professional with internship and volunteer experience in providing group and individual therapy to low income minority youth, working with non-profit women\'s rights, teaching school aged children financial literacy and providing legal advocacy services. • Background in working with youth and people of diverse experiences. • Achieved certificate in Special Education Needs. • Bachelor\'s degree recipient in Sociology with focuses on Criminology and Leadership. Lola Mains is a Professional Therapy Dog of Colorado. She has experience working within middle and high schools, and mental health centers.
