ABOUT HANNAH JOYA
I am a junior at University of Maryland, pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Government and Politics. My passion lies in advocating for social justice and improving the immigration system. I aspire to continue onto law school and become an immigration lawyer, driven by a desire to make a meaningful impact on the lives of immigrants.I am currently participating in the FIRE program at UMD, which provides students with an inclusive, faculty-mentored research experience. I am in the Visualizing Social Justice stream, working on a project that focuses on the collective memory of College Park. This experience has enhanced my research skills and deepened my understanding of social justice issues.As I continue my studies, I am actively seeking opportunities to expand my knowledge and skills in immigration law and public policy. I am dedicated to making a difference and am excited to explore avenues where I can contribute to meaningful change in the community.
