ABOUT HANNAH HOWE

Hannah Howe is a strategist with a passion for Water and the Environment. Specialising in GIS, hydraulic modelling and catchment planning, she develops technical approaches and leads teams to deliver flood risk and pollution reduction projects.After Graduating from Durham University, Hannah started her career teaching GIS, surveying and laboratory skills to Geography undergraduates at Nottingham Trent University. On moving in to consultancy with Clear Environmental Consultants, she was part of the Sewerage Management Planning (SMP) team seconded to Severn Trent Water, responsible for managing modelling outputs and developing model specification. After 4.5years supporting SMPs, Hannah moved to developing Sustainable Drainage Plans (SDP) for Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water. During this time, in 2016 she won the young professional\'s prize CIWEM ICE Learning to Live with Flooding in Wales Conference, for the paper \'A Holistic Catchment Planning Approach to Reduce Flood Risk in Haverfordwest\'. In 2017 she completed a post-graduate degree in Managing Urban Drainage with the University of Derby.On joining AECOM in 2018, Hannah led flood risk studies, fluvial modelling and sewer modelling for nationally significant projects, for the private and public sector in the UK and abroad. She also authored part of the Flood Risk Management Plans Cycle 2 (FRMP2) on behalf of the Environment Agency. Hannah was also the Modelling and Mapping Lead for Severn Trent’s award winning Mansfield Sustainable Flood Resilience Project, the largest retrofit SuDS project in the UK.Recently having joined Stantec, Hannah is currently developing Blue-Green and sustainable approaches to a number of projects in the UK.
