Since October 2019 I have been Managing Director at BATS Improv, the longest running and most highly acclaimed non-profit improvisational theater and theatre school in Northern California, founded in 1987. I am responsible for strategic and financial planning, fundraising, operations, HR for our staff of over 44, marketing and communications, organizational strategy and day to day management of all aspects of the organization and board of directors. This includes management of our venue, a 200 seat theater at Fort Mason in San Francisco where we run a year-round program of shows, our school and our corporate training program. We produce a year-round program of 100+ original performances and serve around students and 90 corporate clients annually. Some of my key achievements in the role include increasing our reserves from to $1.3 million through securing city, state and federal funding and individual donations as well as successfully leading our pandemic response keeping all operations intact, our 44 employees engaged and building an hybrid business model. I was a founding member of our Justice, Equity and Diversity Committee and have played a key role in our transiition to become an anti-racist theater, which has included overhauling a number of corporate policies and systems including our recruitment and hiring policy, a new \'pay what you can\' show pricing model, a new conflict process based in restorative justice to repair harm and expansion of our artistic company and guest program with a focus on ensuring the stories and voices on our stage and in our audiences and classrooms reflect the demographics of Bay Area Community we aim to serve.
