About Hannah Dawson
I am a first year associate specializing in intellectual property law, with a focus on anti-counterfeiting, litigation, and patent prosecution.I received my J.D. from Loyola University Chicago School of Law and worked as a law clerk at Greer, Burns & Crain, Ltd. prior to joining the firm as an attorney. During law school, I competed in the USPTO PTAB Moot Court competition, where my team placed within the top ten nationally. I also contributed to the Annals of Health Law & Life Sciences and was a research assistant. In addition, I held writer, editor, and executive board roles with Loyola’s IP blog, IP Bytes, and served as Vice President of Loyola’s IP Law Society. Before law school, I spent two years in clinical research, managing data for four different oncology pharmaceutical studies at various phases. In this role, I worked closely with the pharmaceutical companies and other research teams to ensure data integrity and compliance with study protocols and regulatory standards. I also trended patient data and contributed to the software development of study-specific data capture systems.I graduated from the University of Cincinnati in August 2020 with a dual bachelor\'s degree in Biology and Neuroscience, along with minors in French and Spanish.During my undergraduate studies, I worked as a research assistant in two different labs. At Cincinnati Children\'s Hospital and Medical Center, I was part of Dr. Charles Vorhees\' and Dr. Michael Williams\' neurology lab that focused on the investigation of how mutations in brain-specific genes/proteins, environmental agents, and proton radiation adversely affect the developing brain and lead to neurological and cognitive disorders. My primary role involved assisting with research on genetic factors related to ADHD and cognitive development. In a separate lab at the University of Cincinnati, directed by Dr. Patrick Guerra, I contributed to a neuroecology lab focused on how organisms respond to environmental changes, shifting landscapes, and habitat stochasticity, with my work centered on studying the migratory routes and patterns of monarch butterflies.Outside of my professional life, I enjoy reading, swimming in Lake Michigan, fantasy football, and competing with my younger brother on the golf course (despite the fact that I am relatively new to the sport).
