ABOUT HANNAH C.

Hannah Cope is an accomplished attorney with extensive experience in divorce and family law, complemented by a background in federal and state civil litigation and appellate work.Her passion for law was ignited through meaningful experiences at refugee resettlement organizations in San Diego, where she witnessed firsthand the profound impact of dedicated advocacy during challenging circumstances. Hannah earned her bachelor’s degree in International Security in Conflict Resolution from San Diego State University and went on to achieve her Juris Doctor from the University of Colorado School of Law. Currently, she contributes her expertise as a coach at the University of Colorado Law School for the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot Competition.Hannah approaches family law with a blend of analytical rigor and extensive legal knowledge across various domains. She recognizes the diversity within families and employs her creative problem-solving skills to tailor solutions to each client’s unique needs. Known for her meticulous preparation and strategic foresight, Hannah is committed to safeguarding her clients\' futures while demonstrating empathy for the significant challenges they face.Previously, Hannah served in the Office of Legal Counsel for the Governor of Colorado, where she gained invaluable insights into navigating complex legal landscapes, particularly during the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.At Ahles Family Law, Hannah applies her comprehensive experience to a wide spectrum of cases. In addition to handling divorce, custody, pre-decree, and post-decree modification matters, she is adept at addressing issues involving the Uniform Child-Custody Jurisdiction and Enforcement Act (UCCJEA), grandparents’ rights, single fathers, common law cases. Hannah has also handled matters involving breaches of contract, intellectual property infringement, and securities regulation at the state and federal level. Her dedication and expertise have earned her recognition as a trusted advocate among clients and peers alike, and she was honored to be included in the 2022 Super Lawyers list of Rising Stars.Hannah grew up on an ostrich and emu ranch in Elbert County, Colorado and returned to the state following her undergraduate studies (though California will always have a special place in her heart). She enjoys yoga, knitting, painting, and taking advantage of Colorado’s many hiking, camping, and rock-climbing opportunities.
