Senior Supporter Insight Lead @Breast Cancer Now

View department →

Now working in the performance and supporter experience (SX) team, my biggest responsibility is coordinating taking part in the Chase Index supporter loyalty survey, completing extensive analysis of our results and presenting insights to galvanise action from teams to dedicate precious time and effort to prioritising delivering gold standard SX to our audiences• I have established retention and cross-sell metrics, allowing for consistent measurement and a holistic approach rather than the siloed and overly focused measures some teams rely on• I also carry out quantitative and qualitative analysis of SX measures such as supporter surveys and email satisfaction metrics, striving to make these insights clear and accessible for teams to respond quickly to feedback themes and ultimately improve SX• For our SX steering group of associate directors, I have developed a suite of health and happiness measures which give a clear overview of how we are doing and which areas need more focus and improvement• I also work on other strategic priority projects ad hoc and often to short deadlines, representing the best interests of our supporters at all points – for example feeding into work on our new organisational strategy to ensure senior stakeholders understand our critical supporters and how they feel about Breast Cancer Now

ABOUT HANNAH CHIDWICK

Data analysts are the people that everyone wants to know but no-one thinks they could be. In reality they probably could, but I like to keep a bit of mystery in my work and make it seem like a masterpiece conjured up entirely via magic. Ultimately my aim is to bridge the gap between data and fundraisers.I love pulling together data to answer questions that no-one else can, and presenting it in a way that means great decisions can be made. Making data accessible and understandable - and visually appealing - is key to enabling an insight-driven culture, and that’s what means charities can do what they do best, better.Having gradually sidestepped since 2012 from data management and wrangling to data visualisation; customer service to internal stakeholder management, I’m now doing what I love, working with great people from right across charities, and always learning. My aspiration is to bring the techniques and benefits of data science to the voluntary sector without the inordinate cost, but in the short term I’m spending my days playing with SQL and Power BI (becoming a Microsoft certified DA100 and DP600 Data Analyst Associate along the way), and dabbling in R and Python, to get fundraisers the insights they need to keep on changing the world.
