I’m currently a Senior Cybersecurity Analyst at Checkr.Previously, I was a cybersecurity analyst for a MSSP.A 24/7 environment with worldwide clients and contract tiers 1-3. During my time in this role, I became client primary for a nationwide company, was chosen as shift lead and led Cyber Threat Intelligence presentations both internally and to clients.Until graduation, I was the student worker for my program. Among other job duties, I maintained Active Directory and student accounts, worked with virtualization and Citrix XenServer, desktop support and troubleshoot, software installation, inventory, catalogue team volunteering hours, documentation, and I performed other computer-related functions. I also revamped the website and piloted and executed a project for a Recording/Skype station, in which students can use to record video projects or do online interviews through Skype. I competed on the Logan Defenders, which is our cybersecurity competition team in defensive competitions. Also, we engage in community service work. In addition, I have presented at numerous local schools to educate students on cyber security issues and to recruit future cyber security students for John A. Logan College, performed interactive computer games with small children, conducted cyber security workshop for the Girl Scouts’ Cybersecurity Badge, and volunteered as tech support for the Vietnam Wall at the V.A. Hospital in Marion, IL. In Competition, I have participated at SIU-C Cyber Security Day 2018 and its cybersecurity competition and was Active Directory on this year’s CCDC (Cyber Defense Competition) on the Logan Defenders team as Active Directory for the 2019 Midwest CCDC as well as the invitational in November 2018. I was later promoted to Project Manager and have performed as such on CCDC competitions such as the invitational and qualifier. My team placed second in the state, moving on to the wildcard spot, ranking above teams of the following colleges/universities: Southern Illinois University, College of Du Page, Governor’s State University, Illinois Institute of Technology, Illinois State University, Lewis University, McKendree University, and Moraine Valley Community College.I have experience with student leadership roles, through Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, WiCys (Women in Cybersecurity) Vice-President, the John A. Logan College’s student organization Y.O.D.A.(Your Operators’ Defending Assets) President, John A. Logan College’s Student Senate, which I have served as Student Representative and Vice-President, and two terms as Student Trustee.
