Developing the Transportation Technical Report for the 8-mile Ballard Light Rail Extension, analyzing impacts of 20 Build Alternatives on arterials and local roadway facilities, property access, traffic circulation, and intersection operations from construction to operation; coordinating analysis process of non-motorized network through evaluation of multimodal connections and local access opportunities; supporting safety analysis through crash data documentation and identification of collision hotspots. Identified and mapped target transit routes and proximal historically disadvantaged communities and areas of persistent poverty in the City of Honolulu. This secured $20 million in funding to purchase 7 battery electric buses and 18 battery electric bus chargers and funding for associated work-force training and technical support.Used GIS to identify TOD opportunity zones throughout the new RapidRide I Line corridor in south King County. Analysis identified nearly 3,500 parcels and total acreage along corridor eligible for potential redevelopment, informing true TOD strategies for 41 station pairs along the corridor. This analysis informed over 4 million square feet of residential and mixed-use housing along the corridor, with 1.4 million additional square feet of residential and mixed-use housing in the planning or construction stages.Authored an intersection configuration report describing potential operational control scenarios for the Fauntleroy Ferry Terminal intersection, focusing on meeting future volume demands while prioritizing driver and pedestrian safety, traffic delay and operational efficiency, local community feedback, and climate change resilience; working within a team of engineers to perform design- and model-focused research regarding vehicle queueing, nonmotorized networks and local access, and capacity analysis to best inform potential relocation of ferry terminal, development of tolling strategies, and operations optimization.
