The Diversion Coordinator has the primary leadership and consultation responsibility as a senior authority on diversion strategies to agencies and organizations across the state having a unique level of technical expertise that is critical to DCJ’s successful statewide implementation of the diversion statute (19•••02 C.R.S.).This position works with the Division of Criminal Justice Director, the Office of Adult and Juvenile Justice Assistance Manager, the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Council, and juvenile diversion programs, to develop practices and protocols specific to the effective implementation of statewide juvenile diversion. Provides training and technical assistance to local diversion programs. Works collaboratively with all diversion programs, state agencies, local agencies, and nonprofits statewide to ensure the availability of diversion services for all eligible juveniles statewide. Identifies solutions for complying with all rules and regulations related to the Diversion statute (19•••02 C.R.S.). Assists local diversion programs to align their policies and practices with evidence-based practices. The position will provide guidance and assistance to all diversion programs as needed.
