About Hanlon Walsh

I am Director of Strategy for Peritus PR, a communications firm headquartered in Birmingham. In this role, I lead business development, agency marketing, and communications strategies for clients across a variety of industries including hospitality, tourism, sports, F&B, and nonprofit sectors.On the side, I write tennis features and support podcasting efforts for The Tennis Tribe, a tennis media company focusing primarily on professional doubles. In this role, I write about unique doubles storylines, interview professional tennis players and industry professionals, and cover live events as accredited media. I’ve covered major ATP and WTA events including the WTA Finals in Fort Worth and Cancun, National Bank Open in Toronto, Credit One Charleston Open, Citi Open in Washington DC, Davis Cup, Dallas Open, Atlanta Open, and ATX Open in Austin. I also serve as a contract media specialist at the U.S. Men\'s Clay Court Championships in Houston.Outside of tennis, I write freelance outdoor and travel stories for a variety of local, regional, and national publications. I\'ve been published in Garden & Gun, Business Alabama, Mobile Bay Magazine, Waterkeeper Magazine, and Currents Magazine. I have a nonprofit background during from a four-year stint as communications director for Mobile Baykeeper, where I spearheaded communications and marketing efforts for the largest environmental advocacy organization in the state.I\'m an Accredited Public Relations (APR) professional and currently serve in a variety of industry leadership roles, including President-Elect for Alabama PRSA and on the Leadership Roundtable for Public Relations Global Network. On the community level, I am also an advisor on Freshwater Land Trust\'s Communications & Outreach Committee.
