ABOUT HANK MANDSAGER

Experienced full-stack data professional, aerospace engineer, and 2019 (fantasy) football champion. I excel in pushing organizations to improve processes and leverage data in innovative ways to drive efficiencies. I spent the first part of my career working for the Air Force as a flight test engineer developing novel testing methodologies on both the F-22 and F-35. I lead teams of engineers through multiple, high-risk test programs to deliver decision-quality data to senior Air Force acquisition officers. I paired my deep technical skills in flight dynamics, modeling & simulation, and systems engineering with polished public speaking and detail-oriented project management skills to reduce risk and provide next-generation capability to the warfighter at the speed of relevance.A career transition and relocation in 2019 launched my data career as both a data engineer and data scientist. I am a technical leader in developing resilient and performant data and ML applications using Python, CI/CD, GCP cloud infrastructure, and automated data quality monitoring. I am an expert in Python and SQL and experienced in Dockerized ML application development. I have developed models to improve retail store location selection, forecast online ordering, and simulations to optimize store and shelf layouts. A daily focus of mine is improving time-to-production for ML applications by incorporating system design thinking to early data exploration.I currently live in Johnston Iowa with my wife and Beagle. I enjoy riding my bike, running, and attempting to play golf.
