ABOUT HANK IDSINGA

A seasoned Homicide Investigator, ultimately spending the last five years of my policing career serving as the proud Unit Commander of Toronto\'s Homicide and Missing Persons Unit. Responsible for leading and managing the Unit on a daily basis, overseeing Investigative Response Teams, the Cold Case Section, Video Analysis Unit, Missing Persons Unit, and the Major Case Management / Powercase Unit. Through my experience, I have become highly skilled in Criminal Law, Emergency Management, Criminal Investigations, Interviewing, Public Speaking, Media Relations, Management and Leadership. I am an accredited Major Case Manager, Hearings Officer, and Major Incident Manager. I have instructed on the Death Investigations Course, Paediatric Death Investigations Course, and Crime Scene Management Course at the Toronto Police College, and I continue to Instruct on courses for Police Services across southern Ontario. I have presented to high school students, post-secondary institutions, and Police Services across the globe. I teach part-time at Humber College to post-grad students in the Forensic Identification Course, as well as to second year students in the Police Foundations Course. The current courses which I teach are \"Introduction to Criminal Investigations\", “Death Investigations\", “Interviewing & Investigations”, and “Police Oversights”. I have appeared in several television productions including “The Detectives” (CBC S3EP4 and EP5), and “Making a Serial Killer” (Prime Video S1EP5). I provide commentary on policing and crime issues for Corus owned media outlets in Toronto such as AM640 radio and Global Television.
