Assess and suggest new directions for hardware and technology in general at the Center with primary focus on security and streamlining day to day functionality for the userbase. Helped assess and refine controls around translator ipad devices via Sophos Central cloud management involving creating policies that are in line with security best practices. Built new ESXi 8.x cluster and coordinated P2Vs of key systems and executed said conversions during off-hours and helped with post-migration tasks. Helped clean up Azure account provisioning to prepare for implementation of in-tune and O365. Prepared user mailboxes for O365 migration and executed migrations via powershell scripts. Participate in strategy meetings for hardware refresh activities vs budget constraints. Primary Veeam backup architect – evaluated and re-deployed entire Veeam backup strategy including utilizing Wasabi cloud storage as a secondary target for long term immutable retention. Participate in all-hands outages as needed. Review and suggest updates/hardware replacements for on-prem datacenter (power, cooling, racks, servers, tape drives, etc.) Mentor/assist junior helpdesk personnel as needed.
