Educates, informs and lobbies the SC General Assembly on issues related to restaurants,hotels, and the tourism industry, as a whole.• Identifies state and local legislation that is of priority to SCRLA’s membership. On anongoing basis, monitors legislation to ensure SCRLA is in front of issues impactingmembership.• Develops and drafts yearly legislative agenda for SCRLA and coordinates all legislativeadvocacy initiatives.• Communicates relevant legislative developments to SCRLA’s membership on a regularbasis.• Develops and maintains meaningful relationships with elected officials and regulatoryagencies to identify relevant partnership between the SCRLA and offices/agencies.• Supports the SCRLA Executive team in all strategic initiatives.• Coordinates with Governmental Affairs Staff of AHLA, NRA and AAHOA and in-statepartners such as PRT, SCATR and SCTTC.• Works with events team on legislative events such as Indigo Evening, Hospitality Dayat the Statehouse and local member/legislative roundtable events.• Manages and oversees the SCRLA PAC.• Coordinates with national partners and builds support and participation for industry eventson the Hill.• Coordinates and executes grassroots/grasstops state and local lobbying campaigns,local legislative roundtables, and events.• Utilizes industry partner tools such as Phone to Action and HotelsACT.• Identifies and coordinates with organizations outside the hospitality industry with sharedgoals on issues to create strong alliances and coalitions• Supports SCRLA’s membership engagement and development initiatives as needed.
