About Hamzah Yaacob
I am a newly graduated Master of Urban and Regional Planning candidate from UCLA. Prior to graduate school, I worked for two years in Singapore, which included strategic planning at the Ministry of National Development, and planning research at the Singapore University of Technology and Design. I worked with data analytics, surveys and ethnographic interviewing. Through graduate school, I completed a year-long internship at the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA), where I planned and designed initiatives to make Slow Streets permanent across the city. I am passionate about bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure, transportation equity, particularly making bike-ped planning beneficial to communities of color and reflective of the desires of marginalized communities, multi-modal planning and land-use-transportation coordination.
