Roadway Design- Worked on a 10-mile highway widening project, expanding from two to three lanes in each direction, and proposed alternatives for the most feasible and safe widening option. Tasks included preparing plan and profile views, cross sections, concept plans, and typical section drawings- Performed calculations and designed superelevation for multiple highway curves- Conducted site visits to gather measurements for storm structures, transferred data points into CAD files, and created basemaps showing underground and overhead utilities for the 10-mile highway project. Identified and documented utility conflicts- Contributed to the design of interchange upgrades to improve mobility and safety- Participated in the design of a new interchange, focusing on functionality and efficiency- Designed several roundabouts with various proposed geometric layouts. drawings with cost estimates- Designed cul-de-sacs, including plans and profiles, geometric layouts, grading/pavement details, and a driveway connected to the cul-de-sacs- Designed guardrails for where they needed in three routes, adhering to Kentucky Transportation Cabinet CAD and design standards.Traffic Engineering- Prepared 25 reports detailing existing geometric and signal layouts, including phasing diagrams- Calculated clearance intervals (yellow and all-red timings) for multiple traffic signals- Conducted capacity analyses using HCS and generated reports for freeways, traffic signals, two-way stop control (TWSC), and roundabouts- Designed horizontal alignment warning signs in compliance with the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) for streets and highways.
