ABOUT HAMMAAD A.
As an economist at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA), I apply my economic analysis expertise to support the development and implementation of policies and programs related to animal and plant health and welfare. I collaborate with various stakeholders, such as government officials, industry representatives, and academic experts, to provide evidence-based advice and recommendations on key issues and challenges facing the sector. In addition to my role at DEFRA, I am also pursuing a BSc in Economics at the University of Kent, where I have acquired a solid foundation in economic theory and methods, as well as analytical and written communication skills. I am passionate about learning and applying economics to real-world problems, and I have been involved in several research projects and initiatives on topics such as environmental economics. Furthermore, I have been working as a mathematics tutor at FKS Tutors for over a year, where I help GCSE and A-level students improve their mathematical skills and confidence.
