ABOUT HAMILTON THIERSCH
I am a Louisville based business professional who obtained an MBA with a focus in Marketing & Data Analytics. Why an MBA? During my senior year of college, I was approached with the opportunity to learn more about my dream industry- distilled spirits, this industry is my passion. Through the program, I have been challenged to think more deeply and broadly about business, and how I can contribute. I’m confident in my ability to make decisions, to communicate with a diverse population, to explore different approaches to tackling problems. I’ve always been interested in developing plans. I’ve noticed that companies with strategic communication plans are always the best companies out there—planning for 6 months into the future makes sense. Communicating with your audience creates a two-way conversation that energizes and regenerates a brand. I’m interested in strategic marketing and communications. While working at KY Venues I collaborated with department supervisors to coordinate the three in-house shows: National Farm Machinery Show, Kentucky State Fair, and North American International Livestock Expo. Six weeks before the big farm machinery show, the CEO mentioned that he wanted to introduce a registration process for visitors-I was assigned this because of my technical skills, I ended up designing the registration platform for the NFMS. Although the platform was up and ready for registration, we learned some valuable lessons about needs of a diverse set of participants, the appropriate timeline for effective marketing, and the important contributions of a team of multi-talented professionals. I created a competitive marketing presentation for the CEO to inform the Kentucky State Fair board (governor-appointed positions) about the $28-million economic impact of one of our major events, the Farm Machinery show. The CEO said the presentation looked good, and he appreciated the time & effort that went into the research and images.I am a very active in my community. I am on the Board of Development at Metro United Way, an active member at St. Raphael the Archangel Parish, the Younger Women\'s Club of Louisville, the Young Professional Association of Louisville (YPAL), Bourbon Women, and Class Agent for the Presentation Academy Alumnae Board. In my free time I enjoy playing tennis and golf, as well as collecting bourbon.
