ABOUT HAMEED HAKIMI

I build bridges between vision and outcomes in research, policy and academia by translating evidence into actionable insights, applying innovative approaches including strategic convenings. My varied background in internationally renowned policy and academic institutions and strong fieldwork experience at grassroots levels enable me to appreciate local knowledge and nuanced perspectives, delivering streamlined outcomes that strengthen capacity, institutional growth and knowledge production. My doctoral research at the University of Cambridge critically examines the evolving character of Security, and how it is shaped by bottom-up lived experiences of ordinary citizens in a world that is rapidly transforming under societal shifts, growing securitisation, geopolitical rivalries, political fragmentation, rising populism, AI, environmental degradation and socioeconomic challenges. I have regularly spoken on these issues, including at TEDx Oxford 2018, where I discussed the social pressures facing young people in an age of rapid technological and economic change, and the importance of nurturing positive influence and role models in society.
