Experience
Scientist Gene & Cell Therapy
May 2021 — Present · Pasadena, CA, US
I specialize in gene and cell therapy, focusing on developing and optimizing analytical methods for lentiviral vectors, cellular products, and patient sample analysis. I provide analytical support for research and product development, spanning preclinical studies, process optimization, and pharmacology/toxicology studies. Managing multiple workflows is a key part of my role, and I ensure tight timelines are met for preclinical trial reports. I design, perform, and analyze molecular and cellular assays to characterize gene therapy products. Proficient in a wide range of analytical methods—DNA, RNA, cell, and CFU-based assays, as well as flow cytometry—I also devise and implement robust analytical test procedures, SOPs, and data collection forms. Using statistical analysis, I interpret and report data to support informed decision-making. I develop, verify, qualify, and revise innovative identification and release assays using multiplex ddPCR and single-step RT-ddPCR for gene therapy drugs. By allocating and scheduling project staff strategically, I ensure alignment with project goals and timelines. Collaborating with Process Development teams, I refine manufacturing strategies for lentiviral vectors and vector-transduced cells. Additionally, I represent the company in partnerships with CRO and CDMO partners, negotiating and collaborating effectively to achieve shared goals and objectives.
