About Halyn McKenzie
As a Pathways Intern at NASA\'s Johnson Space Center, I work on various projects in the Aircraft Operations Division, such as designing nadir window covers for the Gulfstream V aircraft, verifying data for the Super Guppy Rescue Loader, and learning about metallurgy. I use tools like Creo Parametric, AutoCAD, and machine shop skills to create and test my designs, and I enjoy the challenges and opportunities to learn from experts in the field. I am also a third year student at Yale University, majoring in chemical engineering and mechanical engineering, with a passion for aerospace. I plan to pursue a graduate degree and a career in this industry, where I can apply my knowledge and skills to solve complex problems and contribute to innovation. At Yale, I am the treasurer for the Society of Women Engineers for two years in a row, where I manage the budget and plan events for the organization. I also have research experience in designing a methane capture reactor using DAC technology, and teaching experience as an undergraduate learning assistant for CENG 150.
