About Kevin Halverson

I\'ve been lucky in my career to be part of several truly special things, and to have worked with smart, engaging people. Two stand out: The first was the Allen Institute\'s initial mouse brain project, where I worked as a research assistant mapping gene expression across the entire adult mouse brain — work that became the Allen Brain Atlas. That experience shaped how I think about rigorous, ambitious science.The second has been Avalara, where I\'ve spent 12+ years contributing to the remarkable growth of a truly unique company. I\'ve built a career across legal, business development, M&A, Chief of Staff to the CEO, and now VP & General Manager of a portfolio of four high-growth businesses. The opportunity to wear so many hats and to grow with the company is one I\'m incredibly grateful for. Right now, and like many others, I\'m drawn to how AI is transforming the pace of discovery, how it is changing the way we do business, and how it might ultimately change our lives.
