ABOUT HALLIE BLACK

I am an External Relations specialist with experience in grant management, building partnerships, strategic communications, advocacy, PR, event & mission management, and content development. My passion lies in supporting and advocating for the projects and programs that help those who need it most. Former Communications officer at the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), the 2020 Nobel Peace Prize laureate, supporting WFP operations in Yemen from Amman, Jordan. My mission was to raise awareness and share the critical stories and experiences of over 17 million food-insecure people in Yemen by collecting and producing engaging content, managing social channels, and building strong communication strategies and relationships. I previously served as a Partnerships officer with WFP in Bangladesh, helping deliver food assistance to almost 1 million Rohingya refugees daily through building donor relations and leading high-profile missions into the field. In addition to my experience in international emergency humanitarian responses, I have six years of experience in the legal field, serving as a paralegal, administrative assistant, accounting assistant, and research assistant.EDUCATION: Degree in International Business, with a focus on humanitarianism, microfinance & community-driven development, and Environmental Studies from Western Washington University
