   Under the direction of and in collaboration with the the Co-founder & Publisher, I am responsible for day-to day newsroom and staff management and leadership, including cooperatively crafting and executing editorial strategy and broader editorial-related projects and efforts, leading newsroom meetings, and working with the Howard University Institute for Advanced Study leadership to develop a budget and adjust costs where needed. I assign and edit stories, essays, scripts, and social posts — efforts that include conceptualization, approving pitches, assigning work, writing and reporting coaching, hands on line editing, visual direction, and web production.
