Hi, I’m Halimah Lawson, a senior at the University at Albany majoring in Criminal Justice with minors in Political Science and Law & Philosophy. I’m passionate about public service and committed to giving back to the communities that have poured into me.I’ve served as Deputy Legislative Director in the New York State Senate, where I gained hands-on experience in policy, advocacy, and community engagement. On campus, I serve on four executive boards, stay active in student organizations, and dedicate time to meaningful community service.Currently, I’m part of the TRIALS program, preparing for law school alongside other service-driven peers. My goal is to use my education and experience to uplift underserved communities and advocate for lasting change.
