I have been acting, singing, and dancing across the country all while reaching my now eleventh year working in retail.The connection might not always be clear to others, but being a performer really lends itself to a career in retail. You need to-cast the right performers-direct your cast to bring out their best performances -improvise and think quick on your feet-put on an unforgettable show for your audience to keep \'em coming back These performance skills have helped to hone my retail skills in recruiting, training, and retaining talent, guiding my team to success, problem solving issues anywhere from HR related to customer satisfaction, and to create engaging and inspiring environments for my clients and my team.I have held management roles for nine of my eleven years while maintaining specialty roles along side my management duties. My favorite aspect to management is building and training a team. Performing has helped deepen my understanding and compassion of others. People are so uniquely complicated in the most beautiful ways and I love seeing and acknowledging that.Aside from management, I use visual merchandising to connect deeper with my clients through a more interpretive lens. Merchandising allows me to really let my artistic side shine! It is what bridges the gap between client and product. There is nothing better than seeing a customer respond positively to newly merch\'d store while having sales metrics reflect the same.As I continue my career in retail, I am looking for roles to grow my skills in Visual Merchandising and be able to teach and train others about the world of merchandising.Being a performer is more than just being entertaining. It is about passion, wit, hard work, innovation, and creating and maintaining deep connections. And that is exactly what I bring to each and every role.
