About Tyler Hale
I am passionate about stories—especially those told by students as they process their experiences and grow. My joy lies in helping young people discover who they are and empowering them at the intersection of identity formation, leadership development, and academics.I earned my Master’s degree from Yale University, where I explored educational leadership and theology through the Yale Divinity School. Today, I serve as the Assistant Head of Upper School for Community at an independent school, working with grades 9-12. I apply Collaborative Problem Solving and trauma-informed practices to equip students with the skills they need to thrive in an interconnected community. My background in student affairs, particularly with college students, gives me insight into the next steps for graduating high school students. After more than a decade of experience in education, I am committed to leadership development and fostering meaningful student growth. In a quiet corner of my heart, I dream of starting a Quaker boarding school in rural Oregon, built on the principles of rigorous academics, simple living, and sustainable farming. Picture this: we read John Woolman, debate systems of justice, and share homemade pasta sauce made from tomatoes we grew ourselves—eaten on stumps, around a campfire. If any of this resonates with you, let’s connect!
