ABOUT HALA T.
Experienced and dedicated education professional with over 30 years of experience supporting diverse learners, including students with visual, physical, and developmental disabilities. I have extensive experience working with blind, visually impaired, and deafblind students at Perkins School for the Blind for over a decade, where I developed strong skills in accessibility, assistive technology, and individualized instruction. Currently serving as a Certified Behavior Technician with Newton Public Schools, I specialize in supporting students with complex learning and behavioral needs through collaborative, student-centered approaches. My work includes implementing behavior intervention strategies, adapting learning materials for accessibility (including CVI, braille, and AAC tools), and partnering with educators, families, and interdisciplinary teams to enhance student outcomes. I am passionate about equity in education and committed to fostering independence, communication, and academic growth for all learners. I hold a Bachelor’s degree and a Teaching Diploma in Elementary Education from the American University of Beirut and am currently pursuing graduate studies in Educational Leadership and Policy at Boston University.
