About Hakim Mohandas Amani Williams
I am the inaugural Daria L. & Eric J. Wallach Professor & Director of Peace and Justice Studies, and Associate Professor of Africana Studies (Caribbean focus) at Gettysburg College. I am also an affiliate of Educational Studies, and an advisory committee member for International & Global Studies, and Public Policy. I teach classes on Caribbean Studies, education for social change, race, gender and identity, globalization and human rights, conflict resolution, mediation and negotiation. My research centers on school/structural violence, educational inequity and youth/community empowerment. I am also an educational consultant who has conducted workshops on intercultural competencies, conflict resolution, restorative circles, and leadership development with diverse audiences.
