STEM Pathways is an outreach, research, and professional developmentorganization funded by the Department of Defense and housed at BostonUniversity. Undergraduate student participants are matched into researchlaboratories or participate as members of the University’s iGEM CompetitionTeam, attend professional development activities, serve as mentors to local highschool students interested in STEM, and volunteer at community outreachevents for students in grades K-12. High School student participants haveopportunities to acquire wet lab skills through hands on workshops, learn aboutthe field of Synthetic Biology through a virtual course, and gain computationalskills through Hackathons. In the summer, both high school and undergraduateparticipants collaborate on research projects within the Biological Design Center.• Coordinator of STEM outreach events and curriculum developer for greaterBoston Area students grades K-12: Cambridge Science Festival Booth, MonthlyHackathons, Semester long hands-on workshops, Bi-Annual Mini-JamboreeScience Festivals, Synthetic Biology Introductory course, High School classroomvisits/workshops• Program manager of undergraduate students pursuing research in SyntheticBiology within Boston University’s Biological Design Center.
